What is electrical contact switch grease?

Contact switch grease is a semi-solid lubricant used to lubricate switch contact points . It is usually composed of base oil (mineral oil or synthetic oil), thickener and additives to ensure smooth and durable contact.

How to choose the right contact lubricant?

As the contact pressure increases, the grease is squeezed apart by mechanical force, and the two contacts make actual contact, ensuring normal conduction of the switch. When disconnecting, the grease around the contacts will flow back with the contacts to cover the surface, forming an effective oil film for continuous protection.
Although the use of grease will cause the resistivity to increase, the amount used on the contacts is very small, the increase in resistivity is almost negligible, and it will not affect the normal conduction of the switch.
Studies have shown that good Contact Grease can protect contacts, greatly reduce wear, oxidation corrosion and other effects, reduce the harm of arcing, and help extend the service life of switches.
